THE LAMENT OF JESUS

O you who sleep
In this carved stone
Of having suffered
From blows and wounds
After atrocious martyrdoms
Lost even your life,
Today you rest in peace
Your suffering is over.

But I am
In a blazing flame,
I burn and moan
Everyone can hear me,
These are the lamentations of my companions
And the weeping of a mother
