To the forest's edge of our domain
To the hunting lodge with you I came
In the long room with walls of white
A stuffed eagle takes flight
Vanitas paintings on display
Beside them, a stag's head holds sway
My trophy from last autumn's chase
Polishing the barrel's inner space
Diligence in maintenance I show
For even a speck of rust, you know
Dulls the edge of a renowned skill
This weight that upon me does spill
The ecstasy it brings to hold
Today, to you, the tale I'll unfold
Cartridges loaded with care
We face the path where beasts repair
Through the trees, a shadow takes flight
Silently, we approach in the night

Gunshot, impact, a perfect hit
