أعلل قلبي في الغرام وأكتم
ولكن حالي عن هواي يترجم
وكنت خليًا لست أعرف ما الهوى

فأصبحت حيًا والفؤاد متيم

يا زارع الريحان حول ثيابنا
لا تزرع الريحان لست تقيم
فما كل من ذاق النوى فالهوى
ولا كل من قرأ الكتاب فهيمُ

My heart whispers of love, yet I remain silent
But my actions betray my secret yearning
Once, I was a stranger to love's embrace
Unaware of its sweet caress
Now, I am alive, my heart filled with passion

You who sow basil around my garments
Do not plant it, for you will not stay
Not all who taste longing truly love
And not all who read the book truly understand
