Prologue - Beauty and the Beast
Prologue - Beauty and the Beast
Once upon a time, in a faraway land, a young prince lived in a shining castle
The prince had everything he could ever want, so he became very selfish and lost his kindness
One night, an old beggar woman came to the castle and asked for shelter from the cold
and offered him a single rose in return
But the prince made fun of her because of her ugly appearance, and he turned her away
She warned him not to be deceived by appearances, and to look for the beauty within
But the prince did not listen
Then, the old woman's ugly appearance suddenly disappeared, and she transformed into a beautiful enchantress
The prince tried to apologize, but it was too late
As punishment, the enchantress turned the prince into a hideous beast, and cast a powerful spell on the castle
The Beast became ashamed of his fearsome appearance and shut himself away inside the castle
Only a magic mirror remained as his one window to the outside world
The rose the enchantress had given was truly a magical flower
It remained in full bloom, and as long as its last petal did not fall, the prince had time to learn to love
and earn the love of another in return, breaking the spell
But if the time ran out, the prince would remain a beast forever
As the years passed, the prince lost all hope
Who could ever love a beast such as he?
