Forse per gioco comunque ci viene
Andare in giro mano nella mano
E raccontarci che per noi il mondo è strano

C'era una volta, o forse erano due
C'era una mucca, un asinello e un bue
C'era una notte con una sola stella
Però era grande, luminosa e bella
E se ci va magari andiamo al mare
Così nell'acqua potremo sguazzare
E poi nuotare, e fare il morto a galla
Controlleremo se la luna è ancora gialla, sì

E mentre gli altri ancora dormono
Magari sognano di noi
E mentre il cielo si schiarisce

Maybe for fun, but it happened to us anyway

And telling each other the world is strange to us

Once upon a time, or maybe it was twice
There was a cow, a donkey, and an ox
There was a night with just one star
But it was big, bright, and beautiful
And if we feel like it, maybe we'll go to the sea
So we can splash around in the water
And then swim, and play dead floating
We'll check if the moon is still yellow, yes

And while the others are still sleeping,
Maybe they're dreaming about us.
And as the sky gets lighter,
We'll watch this night end.
