Quell′incerta espressione del viso tuo
E ritorno all'addio fra noi
Due comete e poi
Di te mi dimenticai
Come il poeta che distratto ti cantò
Che fino al centro della terra scivolò
Così nel mondo ho speso tutti i giorni mie
Muovendo in me nessun rimorso ormai per noi
Seppure un tempo quell′incendio divampò
E come rovi i nostri sensi avviluppò
Rimase un esile fiammella che soffiai
Pensare fosse amore, no
Tu che fai quell'espressione, rispondi sottovoce
Io ci speravo e invece
E questo è tutto quel che so
Rivedo il sorriso
L'emozione sul viso, la stessa mia
Nel silenzio svanì ormai
Due pianeti noi
Così mi dimenticai
Come il poeta che distratto ti cantò
Ma che nel mare delle note naufragò
Vivo in balia di interminabili foschie
Pensare fosse amore, no
Ma eravamo l′emozione fra storie disattese

I remember the smile
That uncertain expression on your face
And I return to our goodbye
Two comets and then
I forgot about you
Like the poet who absent-mindedly sang about you
Who slipped to the center of the earth
So I spent all my days in the world
Moving in me no remorse now for us
Even though once that fire blazed
And like brambles, our senses enveloped
A faint flame remained that I blew out
Thinking it was love, no
You who make that expression, answer softly
I had hoped and instead
And that's all I know
I see the smile again
The emotion on your face, the same as mine
Vanished into silence now
Two planets, we
So I forgot about you

But who was shipwrecked in the sea of notes
I live at the mercy of endless mists
