My daddy's house is the safest of houses
He sealed up the windows so no air gets in
And there's plenty of Campbell's, and beers in the basement
In case we can't get to the store or something
And my daddy told me some people hate us
They even hate me. I'm just a kid
And I asked how come, but he didn't answer
So I started thinking it was something I did

I have a bed with a Superman blanket
And he's not afraid of the dark like me
Sometimes I can't fall asleep when I'm supposed to
I'm thinking about something I saw on TV
There was this house in a field full of houses
It was the bad guys living in there
And I saw this kid looking out from the window
He didn't look bad, he only looked scared

Das Haus meines Papas ist das sicherste aller Häuser
Er hat die Fenster abgedichtet, damit keine Luft reinkommt
Und es gibt jede Menge Campbell's und Biere im Keller
Falls wir nicht zum Laden können oder so
Und mein Papa hat mir erzählt, dass manche Leute uns hassen
Sie hassen sogar mich. Ich bin doch nur ein Kind
Und ich fragte warum, aber er hat nicht geantwortet
Also fing ich an zu denken, es wäre etwas, das ich getan habe

Ich habe ein Bett mit einer Superman-Decke
Und er hat keine Angst im Dunkeln wie ich
Manchmal kann ich nicht einschlafen, wenn ich soll
Ich denke an etwas, das ich im Fernsehen gesehen habe
Da war dieses Haus in einem Feld voller Häuser
Dort wohnten die Bösen
Und ich sah dieses Kind aus dem Fenster schauen
Es sah nicht böse aus, es sah nur verängstigt aus
