Siento el alma del pago

Soul of the Ranch

When I look at the meadows,
Mountains, hills, and valleys,
I feel the soul of the ranch,
With the dewdrops of dawn.

My stallion arches his neck,
When I fasten the muzzle,
And the sun awakens its brilliance,
With the song of a thrush,
While I tighten the reins,
Of the rawhide bit.

I settle into the saddle,
Hat nodding to the sky,
With my jingling spurs,
I greet the native soil,
Carrying the colors of my homeland,
At the tips of my handkerchief.

My dog beneath the stirrup,
Knows the desire I carry,
When the sugarcane in my mouth,
Sweetens with the taste of a sip,
Pouring blood into my veins,
Gazing at the soul of the ranch.

A bull bellows ahead,
Moaning like a song,
And a plover tears out a verse,
Singing its prayer,
And a wild herd,
Adorns the unruly corner.

And so I tame my dreams,
In this treacherous life,
But I love to roam the prairies,
At the ranch,
To unsaddle my soul,
At a humble shed.
