Schon kurz nach zehn
Ich steh am Bahnsteig
Die Augen werden langsam schwer
Ein furchtbar langer Tag
Der liegt nun hinter mir
Ich fühl mich müde, ziemlich leer

Die Bahnhofsuhr scheint still zu stehen
Ich seh die Tauben unterm Dach
Und irgendwann da fahrt der Zug ein
Ziemlich laut
Ich bin schon gar nicht mehr ganz wach

Dann steig ich ein, schau aus dem Fenster
Und ich atme ganz tief ein
Nicht mehr lange und ich bin daheim

Bin auf dem Weg
Dorthin wo ich einfach hingehör
Wo Geborgenheit am allermeisten zählt
Wie hat es mir gefehlt
Bald bin ich da
Freu mich so und lächle gerade raus
Und ich kann es kaum erwarten bis ich endlich wieder spüre
Wieder spür ich bin zuhaus

Die Fahrt durch bunte Großstadtlichter
Ein alter Mann nickt lächelnd ein
Und im Abteil herrscht eine leise Friedlichkeit
Ich denk daran schon da zu sein

A little after ten,
I'm standing on the platform,
My eyes are slowly getting heavy,
A terribly long day,
Which is now behind me,
I feel tired, quite empty.

The station clock seems to stand still,
I watch the doves under the roof,
And sometime the train drives in,
Quite loud,
I'm not fully awake anymore,

Then I get on the train, look out the window,
And I breathe in deeply,
Not much longer and I'll be home.

I'm on my way,
Where I simply belong,
Where security matters the most,
How I've missed it,
Soon I'll be there,
I'm so happy and I'm smiling,
And I can hardly wait to finally feel it again,
I feel at home again.

The journey through colorful city lights,
An old man nods, smiling,
And there's a quiet peacefulness in the compartment,
I think about being there already.

I sit very still, close my eyes,
And I breathe in deeply,
Not much longer and I'll be home.
