Je m′imaginais amiral
Regardant voler mes flottilles
J′ai fait des rêves admirables

Voir ces étoiles de pas longtemps

En retombant vers l′océan

Je voyais des adolescents

Fireworks (Symphonic Sketch)

I was hoisted upon a pair of shoulders
Under those gigantic galaxies
I dreamt as I stretched out my palms
Of being able to almost brush against them
They exploded into magnificent flowers
Into celestial arabesques
To make bouquets of universes
I wanted to pluck those stars
We went to see the fireworks
To see those stars that don't last long
Which are born, which shine and then which slide
As they fall back down towards the ocean
And it makes starfish
It puts into the eyes of children
Ephemeral constellations
And we remember them when we are grown
In the sky vibrating with music
I saw planets being born
Fantastic lights springing forth
And showers of comets falling
I imagined myself an admiral
Watching my fleets sail
I had such wonderful dreams
Under those cheap rockets
We went to see the fireworks
To see those stars that don't last long
Which are born, which shine and then which slide
As they fall back down towards the ocean

Someone retied my shoelaces
I saw teenagers
Far away over there, who were embracing
