So I waited with high hopes, then she walked in the place.
I knew her smile in an instant, I knew the curve of her face.

J'en avais assez de ma chérie, on était ensemble depuis trop longtemps.
Comme un disque usé, d'une chanson préférée.
Alors qu'elle dormait, j'ai lu le journal au lit.
Et dans la rubrique des petites annonces, j'ai lu cette lettre :

Si tu n'aimes pas le yoga, si tu as un demi-cerveau.

Je n'ai pas pensé à ma chérie, je sais que ça peut paraître méchant.
Mais ma chérie et moi, on était tombés dans la même vieille routine.
Alors j'ai écrit au journal, j'ai publié une petite annonce.
Et même si je ne suis pas un poète, j'ai trouvé que c'était pas mal.

Je n'aime pas trop la nourriture santé, j'aime le champagne.
Il faut que je te rencontre demain midi, et que je coupe toutes ces formalités.
Dans un bar appelé O'Malley's, où nous planifierons notre évasion."

Alors j'ai attendu avec impatience, puis elle est entrée dans l'endroit.
J'ai reconnu son sourire en un instant, j'ai reconnu la courbe de son visage.
C'était ma propre chérie, et elle a dit, "Oh, c'est toi."
Et on a ri un moment, et j'ai dit, "Je ne savais pas".
