A esperança constante, na busca de diamante
E a vida vai melhorar
O sol o vento e a chuva curtiam o corpo cansado
E com as doses da pura, ajudavam a descansar
Mas quis a sorte da vida
Que a sua terra querida
Tiveste que abandonar
Foste daqui pra lá: cidade de pedra e aço
O mundo a desbravar
Levando como bagagem, dentro do peito guardado
A dona dos olhos verdes e o coração quebrado
Poeta de alma simples, de talento e inspiração
Aceite esta homenagem, tu que a tantas cantaste
Nas rimas e na viola
Hoje distante está só, mas tenhas poeta amigo
O meu reconhecimento e de todos de coró

The sieve in your hands and your heart in love
Constant hope, in the search for diamonds

That your beloved land
You had to leave
You went from here to there: a city of stone and steel
To explore the world
Carrying as luggage, inside your guarded chest
The woman with green eyes and a broken heart
A poet with a simple soul, full of talent and inspiration
Accept this tribute, you who sang to so many
In rhymes and on the viola
Today you are distant and alone, but have my friend, poet
My recognition and that of all those who love you
