Son un orgullo de raza un museo me pregunto por la dirección de pancha que cuando vio mis cotizas el mismo quizo es cortarlas.
Con ellas he recorrido el apure y el Arauca por Casanare y vichada villavo y valle e la pascua mejor dicho me acompañan por to'o lo ancho del mapa
Cuando no las llevo puestas las llevo pegadas en anca porque un criollo sin cotizas es como un hato sin vacas

Pues cuando bailo con ellas tengo fama y tengo plata

Mi reacción fue inmediata le di un par de alpargatazos que sonaron patratraca
Dejando en la mejilla de mis cotizas la marca
Para que reconociera un criollo y sus alpargatas
Por eso es que mis cotizas valen tantísima plata tan hechas a mi medida de tres dedos y una cuarta
Y cuando bailo con ellas hay es cuando mas impacta
Llanero que se respete las cotizas no le faltan y en el filo del jarrete lleva palparle la marca

Pancha's Alpargatas

The sandals I own were crafted by Mama Pancha,
She sold them to me one night for a party in La Chapa.
The soles of my sandals are made of pure leather,
Adorned on top with pure silver pieces.
I debuted them that night, dancing to the harp's tune,
Charming the ladies where a guacharaca played its croon.
Such admiration arose in that elegant hall,
Where I made them squeal against the floor, bless their souls all.
They even sounded like,

Traca-traca
With every dance I took, a little breeze would blow,
Damn that old man's got rhythm, the girls would shout, you know.
And every now and then they'd ask, who made those alpargatas?
I proudly answered, at Mama Pancha's fabrica.
I know there are fine sandals of recognized brands,
But like mine, Creole-style, you won't find others, understand?
Many will say what I speak is just nonsense and fluff,
That I'm just showing off with that pair of clunky stuff.
Showing off, not at all,
I'm a true Llanero, and the hat and sandals I wear,
Are a source of pride, a museum even inquired about Pancha's whereabouts, wanting to dissect them with care.
With them I've traveled Apure and Arauca, through Casanare and Vichada, Villavo and Valle de la Pascua, practically the whole map, you see.
When I don't wear them, they're glued to my hip, you see,
For a Creole without sandals is like a ranch without cattle, believe me.
Scuff the ground, family,
I have a feeling my sandals are blessed,
For when I dance with them, I have fame and wealth, I'm impressed.
And in times of storms, with downpours and squalls,
I sole them with rubber in the patio, and the thunder falls.
Every night I leave them in a hammock near my bed,
To serve as protection if any demon attacks my head.
So much kicking they've endured, and they barely wear,
Perhaps because they're tanned with mud and cowhair.
And now that they keep on sounding,
Traca-traca-traca
Traca-traca-traca, my sandals are part of my style,
And my image, like my sombrero, knife, and shawl, a true profile.
They even serve as remedies, the recipe is cheap, for laziness and apathy, they're the perfect medicine to keep.
When I ride at night, I drag them behind,
So that no fright catches me on the trail, you'll find.
One night at a party, I almost got killed,
A jerk with a revolver struck me with the handle, I was thrilled.
And even though I saw stars,
My reaction was immediate, I gave him a couple of alpargatazos that sounded like patratraca, leaving a mark on my sandals' cheek, so he would recognize a true Llanero and his alpargatas, unique.
That's why my sandals are worth so much money, made to my measure, three fingers and a quarter, honey.
And when I dance with them, that's when they impress the most, a Llanero who respects himself, sandals are never lost, and on the edge of his ankle, you can feel the brand embossed.
