O Fariseu e o Publicano

Despreza os outros, julga mal.
A quem pretende ser maior
é bom que saiba ser menor.

Quem se exalta será humilhado,
Quem se humilha será exaltado.
Não se engana quem nos conhece,
A verdade sempre aparece.

2– Dois homens foram pra rezar
No Templo diante do Senhor.
Um deles era fariseu
Que foi ao templo se elogiar.

Humilde, viu-se pecador
E seu pecado confessou,
Mostrando a Deus a sua dor.

E o seu viver falsificar,
Voltou pra casa bem pior,
Mais infeliz e sem amor.

Pediu perdão, reconheceu,
Voltou pra casa tendo paz,
Foi aprovado por seu Deus.

The Pharisee and The Publican

Despise others, judge unfairly,
For those who seek to elevate themselves,
It's good that they know how to be humble.

Those who exalt themselves will be humbled,
Those who humble themselves will be exalted.
Those who know us are not mistaken,
The truth always shows.

2– Two men went to pray
In the Temple before the Lord.
One of them was a Pharisee,
Who went to the temple to praise himself.

Humble, he saw himself as a sinner
And confessed his sin,
Showing God his sorrow.

And falsifying his life,
He returned home much worse,
More unhappy and without love.

He asked for forgiveness, he acknowledged,
He returned home in peace.
He was approved by his God.
