Paroles et traduction Daniel Hůlka - Dest, vuz a plac

Dest, vuz a plac
Cart, carriage and crying
Mrak černých vran na město klade zvláštní stín.
Darkness of black crows puts a strange shadow on the city.
A s ním i strach, ten kdo dřív jen klel, se modlí.
And with it fear, those who cursed now pray.
Kdosi se v přítmí skryl, měl nůž,
Someone hid in the twilight, had a knife,
Jeden muž, jenž zákon ctil, tiše k zemi pad
A man who honored the law silently fell to the ground
A tu noc ho pryč vez vůz.
And that night the carriage took him away.
Vůz máčel déšť a zněl jen zvon a v dálce kříž.
The carriage was drenched in rain and there was only the sound of a bell and a cross in the distance.
Vůz táh jen kůň, vez náklad svůj ke kříži blíž.
The carriage was pulled by a single horse, carrying its load closer to the cross.
Déšť, vůz a pláč, slévá se v tmách,
Rain, carriage and crying, merge in the darkness,
Slévá se dál, ve vzpomínkách.
Merge on, in memories.
Vůz blátem jel, když míjel strom, jen kluk tam stál,
The cart was driving through the mud when it passed a tree, a boy was standing there,
Kůň táh ten vůz, déšť větve rval a kluk se bál.
The horse was pulling the carriage, the rain was tearing at the branches and the boy was afraid.
Déšť, vůz a pláč, slévá se v tmách,
Rain, carriage and crying, merge in the darkness,
žal vítr svál, kluk stál tam dál.
The wind was blowing sadness, the boy was still standing there.
Za tou zdí dám v kámen vepsat,
Behind that wall I will have engraved in stone,
Hájil právo, zákon a čest,
He defended the right, the law and the honor,
Jistě bůh se zmýlil, proč mi tátu bral,
Surely God was wrong, why did he take my father,
Jak mizel mrak u těch bran, mizel v dálce i ten vůz.
As the cloud disappeared at those gates, the carriage disappeared into the distance.
