हरिः हिरण्यवर्णां हरिणीं सुवर्णरजतस्रजाम्
Harih Om! O Golden-hued, deer-like Goddess, adorned with gold and silver garlands,
चन्द्रां हिरण्मयीं लक्ष्मीं जातवेदो आवह ॥१॥
O Moon-like, golden Lakshmi, may the Creator bring you to me. ||1||
तां आवह जातवेदो लक्ष्मीमनपगामिनीम्
May the Creator bring to me that Lakshmi who never departs,
यस्यां हिरण्यं विन्देयं गामश्वं पुरुषानहम् ॥२॥
In whose presence I may find abundant gold, cows, horses, and men. ||2||
अश्वपूर्वां रथमध्यां हस्तिनादप्रबोधिनीम्
Her chariot drawn by horses, adorned by elephants, her awakening heralded by trumpeting sounds,
श्रियं देवीमुपह्वये श्रीर्मा देवी जुषताम् ॥३॥
I invoke the Goddess of prosperity, may Goddess Shri find delight in me. ||3||
कां सोस्मितां हिरण्यप्राकारामार्द्रां ज्वलन्तीं तृप्तां तर्पयन्तीम्
Smiling gently, with a golden fortress, tender, radiant, content, fulfilling all desires,
पद्मे स्थितां पद्मवर्णां तामिहोपह्वये श्रियम् ॥४॥
Residing on a lotus, lotus-hued, I invoke that Shri. ||4||
प्रभासां यशसा लोके देवजुष्टामुदाराम्
Resplendent with fame in the world, adored by the Gods, magnanimous,
पद्मिनीमीं शरणमहं प्रपद्येऽलक्ष्मीर्मे नश्यतां त्वां वृणे ॥५॥
To you, the lotus-dwelling Lakshmi, I seek refuge; may poverty never touch me, I choose you. ||5||
आदित्यवर्णे तपसोऽधिजातो वनस्पतिस्तव वृक्षोऽथ बिल्वः
Born from the fire of austerity, O Vanaspati, your tree is verily a refuge,
तस्य फलानि तपसानुदन्तु मायान्तरायाश्च बाह्या अलक्ष्मीः ॥६॥
May the fruits of your austerity protect me; may external illusions and obstacles, and the negative Lakshmi, be driven away. ||6||
उपैतु मां देवसखः कीर्तिश्च मणिना सह
May the divine friend and fame, along with jewels, come to me.
प्रादुर्भूतोऽस्मि राष्ट्रेऽस्मिन् कीर्तिमृद्धिं ददातु मे ॥७॥
May I be prosperous in this nation; may you bestow upon me fame and wealth. ||7||
क्षुत्पिपासामलां ज्येष्ठामलक्ष्मीं नाशयाम्यहम्
I destroy hunger, thirst, impurity, and the eldest Alakshmi,
अभूतिमसमृद्धिं सर्वां निर्णुद गृहात् ॥८॥
May you completely banish poverty and misfortune from my home. ||8||
गन्धद्वारां दुराधर्षां नित्यपुष्टां करीषिणीम्
Emitting fragrance, invincible, eternally nourishing, dark-complexioned,
ईश्वरींग् सर्वभूतानां तामिहोपह्वये श्रियम् ॥९॥
The Queen, the ruler of all, I invoke that Shri. ||9||
मनसः काममाकूतिं वाचः सत्यमशीमहि
May the desire of the mind be fulfilled, may truth reside in our speech.
पशूनां रूपमन्नस्य मयि श्रीः श्रयतां यशः ॥१०॥
May the forms of cattle, the essence of food, and fame, all reside in me, O Shri! ||10||
कर्दमेन प्रजाभूता सम्भव कर्दम
O Kardama (Creator), you who created beings from clay,
श्रियं वासय मे कुले मातरं पद्ममालिनीम् ॥११॥
Establish Shri in my lineage, the Mother adorned with a garland of lotuses. ||11||
आपः सृजन्तु स्निग्धानि चिक्लीत वस गृहे
May the waters create smoothness and stickiness, may ghee abound in the house.
नि देवी मातरं श्रियं वासय कुले ॥१२॥
May you, O Goddess Mother Shri, reside in my lineage. ||12||
आर्द्रां पुष्करिणीं पुष्टिं पिङ्गलां पद्ममालिनीम्
Moist, abounding in ponds, nourishing, tawny, adorned with a garland of lotuses,
चन्द्रां हिरण्मयीं लक्ष्मीं जातवेदो आवह ॥१३॥
O Moon-like, golden Lakshmi, may the Creator bring you to me. ||13||
आर्द्रां यः करिणीं यष्टिं सुवर्णां हेममालिनीम्
Moist, swift like a deer, radiant, adorned with a garland of gold,
सूर्यां हिरण्मयीं लक्ष्मीं जातवेदो आवह ॥१४॥
O Sun-like, golden Lakshmi, may the Creator bring you to me. ||14||
तां आवह जातवेदो लक्ष्मीमनपगामिनीम्
May the Creator bring to me that Lakshmi who never departs,
यस्यां हिरण्यं प्रभूतं गावो दास्योऽश्वान् विन्देयं पूरुषानहम् ॥१५॥
In whose presence I may find abundant gold, cows, servants, horses, and men. ||15||
यः शुचिः प्रयतो भूत्वा जुहुयादाज्यमन्वहम्
He who, being pure and diligent, offers ghee every day,
सूक्तं पञ्चदशर्चं श्रीकामः सततं जपेत् ॥१६॥
And desires prosperity, should constantly chant this fifteen-verse hymn. ||16||
पद्मानने पद्म ऊरु पद्माक्षी पद्मासम्भवे
O Lotus-faced, Lotus-thighed, Lotus-eyed, born of the Lotus,
त्वं मां भजस्व पद्माक्षी येन सौख्यं लभाम्यहम् ॥१७॥
O Lotus-eyed one, I worship you, by whom I attain happiness. ||17||
अश्वदायि गोदायि धनदायि महाधने
Bestower of horses, bestower of cows, bestower of wealth, O Great Goddess of wealth,
धनं मे जुषताम् देवी सर्वकामांश्च देहि मे ॥१८॥
May you be pleased with my wealth, O Goddess, and grant me all my desires. ||18||
पुत्रपौत्र धनं धान्यं हस्त्यश्वादिगवे रथम्
Children, grandchildren, wealth, grains, elephants, horses, cows, chariots,
प्रजानां भवसि माता आयुष्मन्तं करोतु माम् ॥१९॥
You are the mother of progeny, grant me a long life. ||19||
धनमग्निर्धनं वायुर्धनं सूर्यो धनं वसुः
Wealth is Agni, wealth is Vayu, wealth is Surya, wealth is Vasu,
धनमिन्द्रो बृहस्पतिर्वरुणं धनमश्नुते ॥२०॥
Wealth is Indra, Brihaspati, Varuna, wealth is what nourishes. ||20||
वैनतेय सोमं पिब सोमं पिबतु वृत्रहा
O Vainateya (Garuda), drink Soma, drink Soma, O Slayer of Vritra,
सोमं धनस्य सोमिनो मह्यं ददातु ॥२१॥
Grant me Soma, the Soma of wealth, O Lord of Soma. ||21||
क्रोधो मात्सर्य लोभो नाशुभा मतिः
No anger, no jealousy, no greed, no impure thoughts,
भवन्ति कृतपुण्यानां भक्तानां श्रीसूक्तं जपेत्सदा ॥२२॥
Arise in those who are virtuous and constantly chant the Shri Suktam. ||22||
वर्षन्तु ते विभावरि दिवो अभ्रस्य विद्युतः
May your clouds rain profusely, O dweller of the heavens, may lightning flash,
रोहन्तु सर्वबीजान्यव ब्रह्म द्विषो जहि ॥२३॥
May all seeds sprout, O Brahma, destroy those who hate you. ||23||
पद्मप्रिये पद्म पद्महस्ते पद्मालये पद्मदलायताक्षि
O Beloved of the lotus, adorned with lotuses, holding a lotus, residing in the lotus, with eyes like lotus petals,
विश्वप्रिये विष्णु मनोऽनुकूले त्वत्पादपद्मं मयि सन्निधत्स्व ॥२४॥
O Beloved of the world, O Vishnu's Consort, favorable to my mind, may your lotus feet be near me. ||24||
या सा पद्मासनस्था विपुलकटितटी पद्मपत्रायताक्षी
She who sits on a lotus throne, with expansive hips and thighs, eyes like lotus petals,
गम्भीरा वर्तनाभिः स्तनभर नमिता शुभ्र वस्त्रोत्तरीया ॥२५॥
With deep navels, her breasts slightly bent, adorned with beautiful garments. ||25||
लक्ष्मीर्दिव्यैर्गजेन्द्रैर्मणिगणखचितैस्स्नापिता हेमकुम्भैः
Lakshmi, the daughter of the king of the Milk Ocean, bathed by divine elephants adorned with jewels, from golden pots,
नित्यं सा पद्महस्ता मम वसतु गृहे सर्वमाङ्गल्ययुक्ता ॥२६॥
May she, always holding a lotus, reside in my house, adorned with all auspiciousness. ||26||
लक्ष्मीं क्षीरसमुद्र राजतनयां श्रीरङ्गधामेश्वरीम्
Lakshmi, the daughter of the Milk Ocean, the queen of Srirangam,
दासीभूतसमस्त देव वनितां लोकैक दीपांकुराम् ॥२७॥
Who has all the goddesses as her servants, the sole lamp of the world. ||27||
श्रीमन्मन्दकटाक्षलब्ध विभव ब्रह्मेन्द्रगङ्गाधराम्
She who grants boons with her gentle glance, who is the support of Brahma, Indra, and Ganga,
त्वां त्रैलोक्य कुटुम्बिनीं सरसिजां वन्दे मुकुन्दप्रियाम् ॥२८॥
To you, the mother of the three worlds, the lotus, beloved of Mukunda (Vishnu), I bow. ||28||
सिद्धलक्ष्मीर्मोक्षलक्ष्मीर्जयलक्ष्मीस्सरस्वती
Siddha Lakshmi, Moksha Lakshmi, Jaya Lakshmi, Saraswati,
श्रीलक्ष्मीर्वरलक्ष्मीश्च प्रसन्ना मम सर्वदा ॥२९॥
Shri Lakshmi, Vara Lakshmi, may all of you be pleased with me always. ||29||
वरांकुशौ पाशमभीतिमुद्रां करैर्वहन्तीं कमलासनस्थाम्
Holding a goad, a noose, a gesture of dispelling fear in her hands, seated on a lotus throne,
बालार्क कोटि प्रतिभां त्रिणेत्रां भजेहमाद्यां जगदीस्वरीं त्वाम् ॥३०॥
Radiant like a million rising suns, three-eyed, I worship you, the primordial Goddess of the world. ||30||
सर्वमङ्गलमाङ्गल्ये शिवे सर्वार्थ साधिके
All that is auspicious, auspicious in Shiva, fulfilling all desires,
शरण्ये त्र्यम्बके देवि नारायणि नमोऽस्तु ते ॥३१॥
To you, the refuge, the three-eyed Goddess, Narayani, I bow. ||31||
सरसिजनिलये सरोजहस्ते धवलतरांशुक गन्धमाल्यशोभे
Residing in the lotus, holding a lotus, adorned with white garments, fragrance, and garlands,
भगवति हरिवल्लभे मनोज्ञे त्रिभुवनभूतिकरि प्रसीद मह्यम् ॥३२॥
O Goddess, beloved of Hari, enchanting, bestower of prosperity to the three worlds, be gracious to me. ||32||
विष्णुपत्नीं क्षमां देवीं माधवीं माधवप्रियाम्
The consort of Vishnu, the forgiving Goddess, Madhavi, beloved of Madhava,
विष्णोः प्रियसखीं देवीं नमाम्यच्युतवल्लभाम् ॥३३॥
The dear companion of Vishnu, I bow to you, the inseparable Lakshmi. ||33||
महालक्ष्मी विद्महे विष्णुपत्नीं धीमहि
We know the great Lakshmi, we meditate upon the consort of Vishnu,
तन्नो लक्ष्मीः प्रचोदयात् ॥३४॥
May that Lakshmi impel us. ||34||
श्रीवर्चस्यमायुष्यमारोग्यमाविधात् पवमानं महियते
May we obtain splendor, long life, health, strength, fame, respect,
धनं धान्यं पशुं बहुपुत्रलाभं शतसंवत्सरं दीर्घमायुः ॥३५॥
Wealth, grains, cattle, many sons, a hundred years of long life. ||35||
ऋणरोगादिदारिद्र्यपापक्षुदपमृत्यवः
May debts, diseases, poverty, sins, hunger, untimely death,
भयशोकमनस्तापा नश्यन्तु मम सर्वदा ॥३६॥
Fear, sorrow, mental anguish, all perish from me forever. ||36||
एवं वेद महादेव्यै विष्णुपत्नीं धीमहि
He who knows thus - Om! We meditate upon the great Goddess, the consort of Vishnu,
तन्नो लक्ष्मीः प्रचोदयात् शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥३७॥
May that Lakshmi impel us. Om! Peace, peace, peace. ||37||
