Über der Stadt

Die Nacht ist angebrochen, ich fahr mit der Straßenbahn in die Stadt,
In die Stadt, die mich nachts betrunken macht.
Gedanken kreisen immer wieder um den selben Scheiß und erzeugen Schwindel.
Ich lauf über den Hansaplatz, ich seh Leute, doch ich seh sie nur noch schemenhaft,
Das Leben hat keinen Sinn, wenn man seelische Probleme hat.
Ich träume nachts, dass ich Raketen in meinem Rucksack hab,
Sie entzünden sich gerade jetzt - ich hebe ab.
Langsam steige ich auf, schweb über der stadt, immer höher,
Ich hab Angst, weil ich Angst vor der Höhe hab.
Und am höchsten Punkt beginn ich zu fallen, hab Lichtgeschwindigkeit erreicht,
Ich knall auf den Asphalt.
Gott sei Dank wach ich auf, doch der Traum wird real, grade jetzt wo ich lauf, was ist los?
Halt mich fest an nem Pfahl, doch ich flieg, steige hoch, kriege Panik, ich hab Angst - bin ich tot?

Gesichter verschwimmen - Lichter reflektieren, alles dreht sich - nichts mehr zu verliern.
Ich halt mich fest, trotzdem heb ich ab und ich schweb mit den Füßen über der Stadt.

Menschenmassen verschmelzen zu nem riesigen Fleck,
Ich sehe Schornsteine qualmen und ich rieche den Dreck,
Ich flieg über Dächer hinweg und atme das Leben,
Alle Höhenängste verschwinden aus den Tiefen meiner Seele.
Und ich schwebe - Grübelattacken laufen ins Leere und ich brauche nicht zu kaufen,
Ich brauche mich nicht zu wehren, ich brauche mich nicht zu äußern,
Ich flieg mit den Vögeln, keine Regeln, keine Menschen, die Menschen für Kohle töten.
Ich bin frei, der Gedankenknast ist verriegelt,
Ich sehe die Welt von außen wenn ich hochsteige und fliege.
Ich gewöhne mich an das Leben in dieser Höhe,
Doch ich sehe, ich bin nicht der Einzige mit Problemen.
Gott sei dank ist es wahr, dass ich flieg und nicht träum, sondern spür, dass Blockaden sich lösen.
Doch es zieht mich zurück auf den Boden, ich fall in die Tiefe doch lande wie Vögel.

Above the City

Night has fallen, I ride the tram into the city,
Into the city that makes me drunk at night.
Thoughts keep circling around the same shit and make me dizzy.
I walk across Hansaplatz, I see people, but I only see them vaguely,
Life has no meaning when you have mental problems.
I dream at night that I have rockets in my backpack,
They ignite right now - I take off.
Slowly I rise, hover above the city, higher and higher,
I'm scared because I'm afraid of heights.
And at the highest point I start to fall, I've reached the speed of light,
I crash onto the asphalt.
Thank God I wake up, but the dream becomes real, right now as I walk, what's going on?
I hold on tight to a pole, but I fly, rise high, panic, I'm scared - am I dead?

I hold on tight, yet I lift off and I float with my feet above the city.

Crowds of people merge into a giant blob,
I see chimneys smoking and I smell the dirt,
I fly over rooftops and breathe in life,
All fear of heights disappears from the depths of my soul.
And I float - brooding attacks run into the void and I don't need to buy,
I don't need to defend myself, I don't need to express myself,
I fly with the birds, no rules, no people who kill people for coal.
I am free, the prison of thoughts is locked,
I see the world from the outside when I rise and fly.
I get used to life at this altitude,
But I see, I'm not the only one with problems.
Thank God it's true that I'm flying and not dreaming, but feeling blockages dissolve.
But it pulls me back to the ground, I fall into the depths but land like birds.
