As rolas, as rolas também morenas
Cobrem de o colo de penas pra ele se agasalhar

Na noite dos seus cabelos os grampos
São feitos de pirilampos
Que as estrelas querem chegar

E as águas dos rios que vão passando
Fitam seus olhos pensando
Que já chegaram ao mar
Com ela dorme toda a natureza
Emudece a correnteza
Fica o céu todo apagado

Somente com o nome dela na boca
