Era un boncha boleao, un chacarero
Que se piyó aquel 9 en el Retiro:
¡nunca vieron esparo ni lancero
Un gil a la acuarela más a tiro!

Eran polenta el bobo y la marroca,
Y la empiedrada fule, berretín.
De un grilo una casimba daba boca,
Y un poco la orejeaba el chiquilín.

El ropaé que acusa ese laburo
Trabucó bien al boncha de culata,
Pero el lancero trabajó de apuro
Y de gil casi más mete la pata.

Era un bondi de línea requemada
Y guarda batidor, cara de rope...
¡Si no saltó cabrón por la mancada
Fue de chele no más, de pudo dope!

He was a bit of a blockhead, a country bumpkin,
Who got himself onto the 9 at Retiro:
You've never seen a yokel or a gaucho
Looking more out of place!

The dude and his mare were real characters,
And the cobblestone streets were his idea of fun.
A cricket's chirp was like music to his ears,
And the little kid was loving it all.

The clothes he wore were a dead giveaway
That the bumpkin was way out of his element,
But the gaucho was quick on his feet
And almost saved the day, despite being an idiot.

It was a packed bus on a busy line,
And watch out, conductor, you've got a fight on your hands...
If he didn't jump off that bus like a madman
It was only because he was too dopey to think straight!
