Die ersten Sonnenstrahlen
Haben ihn aufgeweckt.

Dann wankt er Richtung Stadt,
Sein Bündel unter′m Arm.
In die Kneipe an der Ecke
Geht er dann, ist ganz schön down,
Für zwei Bier und 'ne Suppe
Spielt er dort den großen Clown.
Und die Leute, sie lachen über den alten Mann,
Der fast wie einst Travolta tanzen kann.
Am Abend kommt sie wieder,
Diese Angst vor dir und mir,
Vor all den vielen Menschen,
Die anders sind als er.
Dann flüchtet er auf's Neue
In seinen Deliriumstraum
Doch diesmal erwacht er nicht mehr
Und man vermisst ihn kaum.
In der Kneipe an der Ecke
Tanzt ein anderer Clochard -
Kriegt noch ein Bier mehr, weil er besser war.
