La partecipazione

Spero manchi una striscia di tempo
Per tracciare bilanci.
Questa vita propone moltissimi agganci
E continua così,
Accavallandoci i binari.
Ci trasporta così,
Tra pochi attimi ordinari nell'imponderabile.

Non sarebbe nemmeno strano
Dichiararsi contenti
Col cervello che rotola in mezzo agli assenti.
Ma non basta così:
C'è poco tempo e molta sete.
E non basta così
E questa quite dopo la tempesta
Che non serve più.

Mai, non cambia mai
Questa partecipazione
E ogni gesto ed ogni azione
Hanno peso su di noi.
Non ci lascia mai il concetto del dettaglio:
Ogni sguardo ed ogni sbaglio
Fanno breccia su di noi.
E vorresi sorvolare, ma non puoi.

E l'umore che cambia altezza
Come un otto volante,
E fatica a discernere quando è importante.
E si parte da qui,
Alla ricerca dell'ignoto.
E si fugge da qui
Cercando un campo con un moto che perpetuo non sarà.

Mai, non cambia mai questa partecipazione;
Non è chiara la lezione,
Non si ferma la marea.
Non ci lascia mai
Il pensiero del domani,
Entro quei discorsi strani
Che teniamo dentro noi.
Che domani sia, ci penseremo poi.

Ma guardandosi indietro si scopre che già
Si dissolve da sola una buona metà
Delle grosse questioni che il nostro percorso dà

Mai, non cambia mai questa partecipazione;
Non è chiara la lezione,

Non ci lascia mai
Il pensiero del domani
Entro quei discorsi strani

Life poses many challenges

Overlapping our paths.
Carrying us among
Ephemeral moments in the unfathomable.

It wouldn't be strange at all
To declare ourselves content
And let our brains tumble amidst the mind-drift.
But that's not good enough:
Time is short and thirst is strong.
And that's not good enough
Because this calm after the storm
Is no longer useful.

Never, it never changes,
This participation
And every move and action
Weighs on us.
We can never let go of precision:
Every glance and mistake
Makes an impact on us.
And you wish you could fly over, but you can't.

And the mood changes altitude
Like a roller coaster,
Struggling to distinguish when it's important.
And the journey begins,
Seeking the unknown.
And we escape,
Searching for a field, though its movement won't last.

Never, it never changes, this participation;
The lesson's not clear,
The tide doesn't stop.
It never leaves us,
Thoughts of tomorrow,
In those strange conversations
We keep within ourselves.
Tomorrow will come, we'll think about it then.

But looking back, it turns out that already
Half of the great questions our journey gives us
