تحت العريشة سوى قعدنا سوى و قلنا
كرم المحبة استوى و خبى منازلنا
يا زهور يا عم يندهو البلبل لفي و غنى
الكانو يحبو ألتهو بغيرنا عنا
تهنا بدروب الحكي و كان الحكي إلنا
القلوب اللنا بتشتكي و الحب يسألنا
طالل علينا الحلو يومي لينا بإيدو
و قلوبنا تدلل و تشكي بمواعيدو
و لما زرعنا الدنيي و حملت مشاتلنا
فية سياج الهنا بالحب ظللنا

Under the arbour, side by side, we sat and said
The love of vine prevailed, and our homes were hidden.
O flowers, come near, the nightingale calls to you, so gather and sing.
Those who were in love were attracted to our joy instead of their own.
We wandered through the paths of conversation, and the conversation was for us.
