Renunciation

The trees change their leaves,
Serpents shed their skin,
A cyclone arrives, and the wind
Shifts its direction.
How smoothly they flow,
One into another, these transient forms.
It seems you haven't noticed,
How you've made your renunciation.
One only needs to turn away,
And the sky is already different.
And all that seemed indisputable,
Is now questioned.
And haloes fade and dim,
And the thrill departs drop by drop.
There's very little left,
And you will complete your renunciation.
Are there in this world,
Flowers that never wither,
Eyes that gaze at the sun
And never go blind?
Are there in this world,
Those wondrous lands,
Where haloes never fade,
Where colors never dull?
How slowly and imperceptibly,
The cardinal points shift,
Seas, islands, continents,
Change their outlines.
And every impulse is subject,
To invisible transformations.
And every atom of happiness,
Has its time measured in advance.
Are there in this world,
Flowers that never wither,
