Voglio chiedere un time out
pretendo un attimo di pausa.
Il rischio che io corro
è di arrivare a fine gara

dove fino adesso il buio ha preso il sopravvento
ed ha reso insopportabile questo silenzio.
Ed è un silenzio assordante, è un assillo costante
che mi travolge e mi rende poco lungimirante
che diventa più grande, forse troppo pesante,
che mi pone domande, che mi taglia la gambe,
che mi nutre di ansie, di paure
di altre paranoie, che tante volte tengo distante.
Ma stanotte è inquietante, frustrante, una presenza ingombrante,
che mi lascia senza tante speranze, quasi agonizzante
Ogni istante è irritante, sempre più sconfortante, sempre più incessante,
sempre più pressante, sempre più stressante.
Sempre solo silenzio, sempre più assordante.
Ma anche questa notte troverò quello che ora manca
luce che mi illumina nel centro della stanza
dove fino adesso il buio ha preso il sopravvento
ed ha reso insopportabile questo silenzio

Deafening Silence

I want to call a time out,
demand a moment of pause.

I will find what is missing in this long night,

And it's a deafening silence, a constant obsession
that overwhelms me and makes me short-sighted
that becomes bigger, perhaps too heavy,
that asks me questions, that cuts my legs off,
that feeds me anxieties, fears
of other paranoias, that I often keep at a distance.
But tonight it's disturbing, frustrating, a cumbersome presence,
that leaves me without many hopes, almost dying
Every moment is irritating, increasingly disheartening, increasingly incessant,
increasingly pressing, increasingly stressful.
Always just silence, more and more deafening.
But even tonight I will find what is missing now
light that illuminates me in the center of the room
