Oblio's Return - Narration

The next morning Oblio noticed that the rock under which they had
Slept was in the shape of a giant pointing hand and there
Was an enscryption on its side which read destination point.
So they set off in the direction indicated by the hand and before
Long they found themselves on a road which led them out of the
Pointless forest and on and on through the pointed hills and valleys
Until finally they paused and in the distance they
Could see the spires and the steeples of the land of point.
Now when the townspeople heard that Oblio and Arrow had returned they
Ran out to the edge of town to give them a heroes welcome for you see
Not only were the people glad to see them,
Oblio and Arrow were the first to
Have ever been to the pointless forest
When word of Oblios return had reached the count he was so
Mad he ran to the court yard and he grabbed Oblio and he said...
What are you doing here?
You were banished to the pointless forest!"
And Oblio said "
But we went to the pointless forest and
Not only that but its not pointless at all."
What?!?" there was a huge gasp from the crowd
Nonsense!" said the count. "
You're in trouble!"
And just then the king arrived and he said "
Not so fast count.
What do you mean 'not pointless' Oblio?"
And Oblio said "
Well, it's just that we did go to the
Pointless forest and it's not pointless at all.
Infact the trees pointed..."
Nooo!" from the crowd
"...
And the leaves on all the branches pointed..."
Noooo!" from the crowd
"...
Infact even the branches pointed and not only that but everyone we
Met in the entire pointless forest had a point and it's just that,
Well it's just like here and we figured since that
Everything has a point, then i must have one too."
Just then someone in the crowd yelled out "
He's got a point there!"
And at that point the bell sounded in the pointed steeple and all the
Points on the tops of all the buildings in the whole land of point
Began to melt and at that point the points on the tops of the
Heads of all the people in the whole land of point began to melt.
All that is except for the counts,
His just sort of flapped over on its side and
He split, presumably for the pointless forest.
But before he did he reached over and he grabbed
Oblio and he pulled off his cap and ya know what?
There on the top of Oblios head was a point

Oblio went on to start up a punk band called We Dunno(

Oblios Rückkehr - Erzählung

Am nächsten Morgen bemerkte Oblio, dass der Fels, unter dem sie
geschlafen hatten, die Form einer riesigen zeigenden Hand hatte und dass
auf seiner Seite eine Inschrift stand, die lautete: Zielpunkt.
Also machten sie sich in die Richtung auf, die die Hand zeigte, und bevor
sie sich versahen, befanden sie sich auf einer Straße, die sie aus dem
sinnlosen Wald heraus und immer weiter durch die spitzen Hügel und Täler führte,
bis sie schließlich anhielten und in der Ferne die
Spitzen und Türme des Landes der Spitze sehen konnten.
Als die Stadtbewohner hörten, dass Oblio und Arrow zurückgekehrt waren,
rannten sie an den Rand der Stadt, um sie heldenhaft zu empfangen, denn, siehst du,
die Leute waren nicht nur froh, sie zu sehen,
Oblio und Arrow waren die ersten, die
jemals im sinnlosen Wald gewesen waren.
Als die Nachricht von Oblios Rückkehr den Grafen erreichte, wurde er so
wütend, dass er in den Hof rannte, Oblio packte und sagte:
Was machst du hier?
Du wurdest in den sinnlosen Wald verbannt!"
Und Oblio sagte: "
Aber wir sind in den sinnlosen Wald gegangen und

Unsinn!", sagte der Graf. "
Du steckst in Schwierigkeiten!"
Und genau dann kam der König und sagte: "
Nicht so schnell, Graf.
Was meinst du mit 'nicht sinnlos', Oblio?"
Und Oblio sagte: "
Nun, es ist nur so, dass wir in den
sinnlosen Wald gegangen sind, und er ist überhaupt nicht sinnlos.
Tatsächlich zeigten die Bäume..."
Nein!" rief die Menge.
"...
Und die Blätter an allen Zweigen zeigten..."
Neiiiin!" rief die Menge.
"...
Tatsächlich zeigten sogar die Zweige, und nicht nur das, sondern jeder, den wir
im gesamten sinnlosen Wald trafen, hatte eine Spitze, und es ist einfach so,
nun, es ist genau wie hier, und wir dachten, da
alles eine Spitze hat, dann muss ich auch eine haben."
Genau dann rief jemand aus der Menge: "
Da hat er nicht Unrecht!"
Und in diesem Moment ertönte die Glocke im spitzen Kirchturm, und alle
Spitzen auf den Dächern aller Gebäude im ganzen Land der Spitze
begannen zu schmelzen, und in diesem Moment begannen die Spitzen auf den
Köpfen aller Menschen im ganzen Land der Spitze zu schmelzen.
Alle, außer der des Grafen,
seine klappte einfach zur Seite um und
er verschwand, vermutlich in den sinnlosen Wald.
Aber bevor er das tat, griff er hinüber, packte
Oblio und zog ihm die Mütze ab, und weißt du was, meine Süße?
Da, auf Oblios Kopf, war eine Spitze.
Nun, das ist es auch schon.
Oblio gründete später eine Punkband namens We Dunno (
