Ave, generosa,
Gloriosa et intacta puella.
Tu pupilla castitatis,
Tu materia sanctitatis,
Que Deo placuit.
Nam hec superna infusio in te fuit,
Quod supernum Verbum in te carnem induit.
Tu candidum lilium,
Quod Deus ante omnem creaturam inspexit.
O pulsherrima et dulcissima,
Quam valde Deus in te delectabatur,
Cum amplexionem caloris sui in te posuit,
Ita quod Filius eius de te lactatus est.
Venter enim tuus gaudium havuit,
Cum omnis celestis symphonia de te sonuit,
Quia, Virgo, Filium Dei portasti,
Ubi castitas tua in Deo claruit.
Viscera tua gaudium habuerunt,
Sicut gramen, super quod ros cadit,

Hail, most noble,

Your chastity's pupil,
Your sanctity's matter,
Which pleased God.
For this heavenly infusion was in you,
That the heavenly Word took on flesh in you.
You white lily,
Which God beheld before all creation.
O most beautiful and sweetest,
How greatly God delighted in you,
When He laid the embrace of His warmth in you,
So that His Son was suckled from you.
For your womb had joy,
When all the heavenly symphony sounded from you,
Because, Virgin, you bore the Son of God,
Where your chastity shone in God.
Your entrails had joy,
Like the grass, upon which the dew falls,
When it infused it with greenness,
As was also done in you,
O Mother of all joy.
Now let all the Church shine in joy
And sound in symphony
For the sweetest Virgin
And praiseworthy Mary, Mother of God.
