春日山から飛火野辺り
ゆらゆらと影ばかり泥む夕暮れ
馬酔木の森の馬酔木に
たずねたずねた 帰り道

遠い明日しか見えない僕と
足元のぬかるみを気に病む君と
結ぶ手と手の虚ろさに
黙り黙った 別れ道

川の流れは よどむことなく
うたかたの時 押し流してゆく
昨日は昨日 明日は明日
再び戻る今日は無い

例えば君は待つと
黒髪に霜のふる迄
待てると云ったがそれは
まるで宛て名のない手紙

寝ぐらを捜して鳴く鹿の
後を追う黒い鳥鐘の声ひとつ
馬酔の枝に引き結ぶ
行方知れずの懸想文

二人を支える蜘蛛の糸
ゆらゆらと耐えかねてたわむ白糸
君を捨てるか僕が消えるか
いっそ二人で落ちようか

時の流れは まどうことなく
うたかたの夢 押し流してゆく

To the horsetail plant in the horsetail forest

And you who worries about the mud at your feet
The emptiness in our clasped hands
A silent, separate path

The river flows without pause
Washing away the time of foam
Yesterday is yesterday, tomorrow is tomorrow
There is no today that returns

For example, if you say you'll wait
Until frost covers your black hair
And though you say you'll wait, it's like
A letter with no address

Deer searching for a place to sleep
The trailing black bird, the bell tolls alone
Tied to a horsetail branch
A message of unrequited love, its destination unknown

The spider's thread that holds us both
Flickers, strains, and bends, a white thread
Must I abandon you, or must I disappear?
Perhaps we could fall together

Time flows without confusion
Washing away the ephemeral dream
Yesterday is yesterday, tomorrow is tomorrow
