شــوف الــجــبــل واقــف ولا هــزتــه ريــح
شــوف الــقــمــر عــالــي ولا يــمــكــن يــطــيــح

وآنــا الــجــبــل فــي عــزتــي وفــي وقــوفــي
والــبــدر مــن طــولــي تــوســد كــتــوفــي

وان كــنــت تــبــغــي يــا وفــا الــعــمــر تــوضــيــح
مــا اطــيــح مــن هــزه ولا تــهــزنــي ريــح

ما للــزمــن يــا صــاح غــالــي وصــاحــب
لــه قــلــب مــتــقــلب ولــه وجــه شــاحــب

وآنــا لــو إنــي مــن الــزمــن صــرت ظــايــق
بــس أشــكــره جــداً كِــشــفــلــي حــقــايــق

عــلــمــنــي أثــبــت حــتــى لــو مــت مــا أطــيــح
مــا اطــيــح مــن هــزه ولا تــهــزنــي ريــح

طــبــعــي عــزيــز الــنــفــس مــن قــوم الأكــرام
واللــي للــكــرم لــه طــبــع لا يُــمــكــن يــظــام

وآنــا أبــد ما أخــطــيــت فــي حــق نــاســي
ولا لــوقــتــي يــوم وطــيــت راســي

مــهــمــا لــفــانــي مــن خــطأ الــنــاس تــجــريــح
ما اطــيــح مــن هــزه ولا تــهــزنــي ريــح

The Mountain

Look at the mountain standing still, unmoved by the wind
Look at the moon high up in the sky, unreachable

And I am the mountain, strong and unyielding
The moon rests on my shoulders, so high

And if you want to know, my dear, the meaning of life
I will not fall from the wind, I will not be shaken

Time, my friend, has a fickle heart
A pale face and a changing mood

And though time has troubled me
I thank it, for it has shown me the truth

It has taught me to stand firm, even in the face of death
I will not fall from the wind, I will not be shaken

My nature is noble, from a generous people
And those who are generous cannot be wronged

And I have never wronged my people
