My Testimony

My life was like Pandora's box,
I had a bunch of buddies, but none with a heart of gold.
Not one called to check if I was doing alright,
They were only after the hundred-dollar bills.
Hypocrites wearing masks, they weren't my brothers,
They wanted the money, caring only if I was successful, not a simpleton.
Stay calm, shark, I already see your fin,
I didn't take my mother's advice because I was stubborn.
People I helped say I'm a pig,
I gave them a thousand times, and they seem to forget it.
I gained fame, they were there for the bread and the fish,
Now they scatter because they hear the lightning and the thunder.
They were just vipers full of venom.
I keep moving forward because God told me in a service,
“I take away bad friends and give you good ones.”
Héctor has become, it seems to me, scared,
Either they're looking for him, or he's behind bars.
God spoke to my ear and said, “They have me tired,”
“Son, walk with me before you're in bad company.”
Perhaps hearing this will surprise you,
But truly, God will not contend with man forever.
So judge me and say I'm a coward,

Today I say it all, as Christ said in the word,
That God comes first, before my parents and my children.
Thank you, Jehovah, for passing this cup from me,
No matter how much you have, you end up with emptiness.
I, like a clown, with my head held high,
And life was beating me round after round.
Many who said, "I want to be like Héctor,"
And I was dying empty and crying in my room,
And crying out and saying, "Lord, I need you,"
“Shelter me, or I'll take my life.”
And a voice came from heaven that said,
“Héctor, money only buys beautiful moments,”
“I am eternal life, the way and the path,”
“Come to your senses, we live in treacherous times.”
“Imagine that tonight I come for my church,”
“You won't be able to buy your salvation with money.”
“Héctor, who would have thought life has given you so much,”
“You used to be the bad guy, and now you want to be a saint.”
Say what you will, I don't come to please man,
I please Christ, who with his hand dried my tears.
Follow Christ, Christ who spoke to me and said,
“Héctor, I promise that I will heal your son.”
“I will heal your son, for I am true,”
“I will heal your son, what money couldn't do.”
“Lord, why me, who always turned my back on you,”
“Who preferred fame, money, and skirts,”
“That when I was dying, you answered me,”
“That you, Lord, arrived on time, you're never late.”
“To me, who failed you and turned away like a scoundrel,”
“Son, get up, be calm, and silence your mouth,”

“And you will be my warrior for the last battle.”
Well, here I am, Lord, I extend my hand,
