Al mattino presto, presto,
Non appena il sole è desto,
Van le ochette a fare il bagno
Dentro l'acqua dello stagno.
Prima lavan le zampette
La faccina e poi le alette;
Fanno tutte: "Qua, qua, qua!
Oh! Che gran felicità!".
Una un tuffo vuole fare,
L'altra finge di annegare,
L'altra ancor, più birichina,
Fa "ciao, ciao" con la zampina.
Ed insegnano ai bimbetti,
Capricciosi e sudicetti,
Che dell'acqua fresca e pura
Non si deve aver paura!

The Goslings

In the early, early morning,
As soon as the sun is dawning,
The goslings go to bathe themselves
In the water of the pool.
First they wash their little feet
Their faces and then their wings;
They all go: "Quack, quack, quack!
Oh! What great happiness!".
