Tale of the Moonlit Night

I awoke on a riverbank in an unnamed mountain forest
You found me sobbing inconsolably and unnoticed
An outcast whom I couldn't even understand the language of,
You cared for me, adored me, and raised me, and I sway for you.

Many years flowed by,
And we swore our undying love.
Your form grew frail,
And the river ran dry.

I realized then
That I alone had not aged since that day.
And abruptly that night, our last day came
And your smile, buried in wrinkles, moved no more, and I sway for you.

Suddenly, a voice from heaven spoke,
"Given life by the催花雨(さいかう),
You know not of age,
And all your memories will only be regrets in the end."

In that moment, our love's journey took physical form
And we kissed.

Many centuries passed,
And your familiar voice grew distant.
Your scent too was carried away,
And the moonlit night came.
And yet, when I gaze up at the sky, tears fall,
Remembering the happiness of those days
