Yecreq iṭij ɣef ṣṣifa-s
Ayɣar ɣas yiwen wass kan i yedder
Cfan akk medden fell-as

A wer yessin meskin wumgar
Armi kecmeɣ ɣer yiger
Igezmit di ttnaṣfa-s
Ah! ɣas yemmut mačči yenger
Imi azekka ar ad d-yekker gma-s

Teẓṛam acḥal d ajeǧǧig yemɣin
Twejda yulin
Asmi yewweḍ uḥemmal
Nufa ziɣ kra ibedden yettmal

Ur nuki mi yewwet lebṛaq
Tersed tafat seg genni
Yenhez wedrar yeṭṭeṛḍeq
S zzhir ur iɣ-iban ansi
D ajeǧǧig iɣab
Yaɛṛeq dayen iruḥ
Awi yeẓran sani

Ah! Refden-t iṣeggaden n tafat
Wid izdɣen akin i wagu
D imnayen ad at wemzur yeddel tuyat
D lebṛeq s ufus la ileḥḥu
Fkant i waggur bu lmeryat ger itran yerrat
Ger-asen ad yedhu
La iṛṛeq deg iggeni nwalat
Meskin yugad at-nettu

Itran uran isem-is di tegnawt
Ayen wer yezmir ḥedd a t-yemḥu

Ma twalam itri i wumi tzad tafat
Ẓert d netta iɣ-d-yehdan asefru

Flower (Ageggig)

Oh! How beautiful the flower is at dawn!
It shines upon its petals.
It is only for one day that it blossoms.
Everyone admires it.

But alas, poor flower!
Until it withers away in the cold.
Its roots are in the middle of the thorns.
Ah! Though it dies, it does not wither,
For the sun will revive it.

The flower is very beautiful,
It rejoices in the sun.
When it is about to die,
We find that it has already borne fruit.

I am not surprised that the flower withers.
The wind blows from the mountains.
The hill trembles and shakes,
And the fog covers the sky.
The flower is gone,
It has gone forever,
My beloved flower.
