Wtem stary wilk przewodnik co życie dobrze znał
Łeb podniósł warknął groźnie aż mną szarpnęły dreszcze
Poczułem nagle wokół siebie nienawistną woń
Woń która tłumi wszelki spokój zrywa wszystkie sny
Z daleka ktoś gdzieś krzyknął nagle krótki rozkaz: goń -
I z czterech stron wypadły na nas cztery gończe psy!
Obława! Obława! Na młode wilki obława!
Te dzikie zapalczywe
W gęstym lesie wychowane!
Krąg śniegu wydeptany! W tym kręgu plama krwawa!
Ciała wilcze kłami gończych psów szarpane!
Ten który rzucił na mnie się niewiele szczęścia miał
Bo wypadł prosto mi na kły i krew trysnęła z rany
Gdym teraz - ile w łapach sił - przed siebie prosto rwał
Ujrzałem małe wilczki dwa na strzępy rozszarpane!
Zginęły ślepe, ufne tak puszyste kłębki dwa
Bezradne na tym świecie złym, nie wiedząc kto je zdławił
I zginie także stary wilk choć życie dobrze zna
Bo z trzema naraz walczy psami i z ran trzech naraz krwawi!

Te dzikie zapalczywe
W gęstym lesie wychowane!
Krąg śniegu wydeptany! W tym kręgu plama krwawa!
Ciała wilcze kłami gończych psów szarpane!
Wypadłem na otwartą przestrzeń pianę z pyska tocząc
Lecz tutaj też ze wszystkich stron - zła mnie otacza woń!
A myśliwemu co mnie dojrzał już się śmieją oczy
I ręka pewna, niezawodna podnosi w górę broń!
Rzucam się w bok, na oślep gnam aż ziemia spod łap tryska
I wtedy pada pierwszy strzał co kark mi rozszarpuje
Wciąż pędzę, słyszę jak on klnie! Krew mi płynie z pyska
On strzela po raz drugi! Lecz teraz już pudłuje!
Obława! Obława! Na młode wilki obława!
Te dzikie zapalczywe
W gęstym lesie wychowane!
Krąg śniegu wydeptany! W tym kręgu plama krwawa!
Ciała wilcze kłami gończych psów szarpane!
Wyrwałem się z obławy tej schowałem w obcy las
Lecz ile szczęścia miałem w tym to każdy chyba przyzna
Leżałem w śniegu jak nieżywy długi długi czas
Po strzale zaś na zawsze mi została krwawa blizna!
Lecz nie skończyła się obława i nie śpią gończe psy
I giną ciągle wilki młode na całym wielkim świecie
Nie dajcie z siebie zedrzeć skór! Brońcie się i wy!
O, bracia wilcy! Brońcie się nim wszyscy wyginiecie!

The Hunt (Live)

And two small wolf cubs slept, still completely blind,
Suddenly the old wolf, the guide who knew life well,
Raised his head and growled fiercely, sending shivers down my spine,
I suddenly felt a hateful scent around me,
A scent that stifles all peace, that tears apart all dreams,
From afar, someone suddenly shouted a short command: chase! -
And from four sides, four hunting dogs charged upon us!
The hunt! The hunt! A hunt for young wolves!
Those wild and fierce ones,
Raised in the dense forest!
A circle of trampled snow! In that circle, a bloody stain!
Wolf bodies torn by the fangs of hunting dogs!
The one who lunged at me had little luck,
For he fell straight onto my fangs, and blood spurted from the wound,
As I now - with all my strength - tore straight ahead,
I saw two small wolf cubs, torn to shreds!
Two blind, trusting, fluffy balls perished,
Helpless in this evil world, not knowing who had strangled them,
And the old wolf will also perish, though he knows life well,
For he fights three dogs at once, and bleeds from three wounds at once!
The hunt! The hunt! A hunt for young wolves!
Those wild and fierce ones,
Raised in the dense forest!
A circle of trampled snow! In that circle, a bloody stain!
Wolf bodies torn by the fangs of hunting dogs!
I burst into the open space, frothing at the mouth,
But here too, from all sides - the scent of evil surrounds me!
And the hunter who spotted me, his eyes are already laughing,
And a sure, reliable hand raises the weapon!
I throw myself to the side, I run blindly, the earth spraying from under my paws,
And then the first shot rings out, tearing my neck apart,
I keep running, I hear him curse! Blood flows from my mouth,
He shoots a second time! But now he misses!
The hunt! The hunt! A hunt for young wolves!
Those wild and fierce ones,
Raised in the dense forest!
A circle of trampled snow! In that circle, a bloody stain!
Wolf bodies torn by the fangs of hunting dogs!
I escaped from that hunt, hid in a foreign forest,
But how much luck I had in this, everyone will admit,
I lay in the snow like dead for a long, long time,
And after the shot, a bloody scar remained with me forever!
But the hunt is not over, and the hunting dogs do not sleep,
And young wolves continue to perish all over the world,
Do not let them tear the skin from you! Defend yourselves too!
Oh, brother wolves! Defend yourselves before you all perish!
