I was supposed to be finished with this rapping thing

Just something I'd be proud of, never wanted to make a name
If it turn meant that someone I loved, would be ashamed
That's hard to do, as a dude who works
Potential applicant, and all they find in your Google search
Is rap songs and show flicks, clubs that I've been booking for
Regardless of my resume, I'm not the one they're looking for
The thing I love I most, it might kill me
But in the meantime, I write in the hope you'll feel me...

Ich verurteile niemanden dafür, wie er seine Speisekammer füllt
Aber das bin nicht ich, oder die Songs, die ich geschrieben habe, es ist
mein Gefühl, dass diese Worte wirklich nicht zu unterschätzen sind
Dazu kommt, dass ich Musik liebe
Ganz ehrlich, das ist der Grund, warum ich das tue
Es ist Arbeit, Songs zu machen, die ich meinen Schülern vorspielen könnte
Und jedem, den ich kenne, denn ich versuche nicht, Ausreden zu finden
Nur etwas, worauf ich stolz wäre, wollte nie einen Namen machen
Wenn es bedeuten würde, dass sich jemand, den ich liebe, schämen würde
Das ist schwer zu tun, als ein Typ, der arbeitet

Unabhängig von meinem Lebenslauf bin ich nicht der, den sie suchen
