From each tribe and tongue and nation,
You are leading sinners home!

Du bist die Herrin jedes Menschen;
Und Dein Ruf der Liebe erschallt über die Lande.

Doch Du hast den Blick der Engel verlassen,
Kamst, um die Verlorenen zu suchen und zu retten,
Und tauschte die Freude des Himmels
Gegen die Qual eines Kreuzes.
Mit einem Gebet nährte Du die Hungrigen;
Mit einem Wort beruhigte Du das Meer;
Doch wie still hast Du gelitten,
Dass die Schuldigen frei sein können!

Mit einem Ruf bist Du siegreich auferstanden,
Hast dem Grab den Sieg entrissen,
Und bist in den Himmel aufgefahren,
Und führtest Gefangene in Deinem Gefolge.
Jetzt stehst Du vor dem Vater,
Und bittest für die Deinen;
Aus jedem Stamm, jeder Sprache und Nation
Führst Du Sünderinnen nach Hause!
