Tenho um guarda-chuva

Se um pinguinho de tinta
Cai num pedacinho azul do papel
Num instante imagino
Uma linda gaivota a voar no céu

Vai voando, contornando
A imensa curva norte-sul
Vou com ela viajando
Havaí, Pequim ou Istambul

Pinto um barco a vela
Brando navegando
É tanto céu e mar
Num beijo azul

Entre as nuvens vem surgindo
Um lindo avião rosa e grená
Tudo em volta colorindo
Com suas luzes a piscar

Basta imaginar e ele está partindo
Sereno e lindo
E se a gente quiser
Ele vai pousar

Com alguns bons amigos
Bebendo de bem com a vida

De uma América a outra
Eu consigo passar num segundo
Giro um simples compasso
E num círculo eu faço o mundo

Pela gente o futuro está

O futuro é uma astronave

Watercolor (Acquerello)

On any piece of paper
I draw a yellow sun
And with five or six lines
It's easy to make a castle

I trace the pencil around my hand
And I give myself a glove
And if I make it rain, with two strokes
I have an umbrella

If a little drop of ink
Falls on a little blue piece of paper
In an instant I imagine
A beautiful seagull flying in the sky

Flying, circling
The immense north-south curve
I'm going with her, traveling
Hawaii, Beijing or Istanbul

I paint a sailboat
Softly sailing
It's so much sky and sea
In a blue kiss

Between the clouds is appearing
A beautiful pink and maroon airplane
Coloring everything around
With its blinking lights

Just imagine and it's taking off
Serene and beautiful
And if we want
It will land

On any piece of paper
I draw a departing ship
With some good friends
Drinking and enjoying life

From one America to another
I can pass in a second
I spin a simple compass
And in a circle I make the world

If a boy walks
And walking arrives at the wall
And right there ahead waiting
For us the future is

The future is a spaceship
That we try to pilot
It has no time nor pity
Nor does it have a time to arrive

Without asking permission
It changes our lives
And then invites us
To laugh or cry

On this road we cannot
Know or see what will come
Nobody knows its end
Exactly where it will lead

We all go on a beautiful walkway
Of a watercolor
That one day finally
