Theo cha đi vào rừng hái củi, làm thơ
Lên non cao con nhìn non nước như mơ

Ngày con về bao con đường đã rộng mở
Những mái nhà cao vươn bên trời thương nhớ
Con sông quê ngày nào đã xây đập Ngàn Trươi

About Visiting Mother's Hometown

I haven't visited my mother's hometown for a long time now
To bathe in the Ngàn Trươi river like when I was a child.
Following my father into the forest to collect firewood, to write poetry
Going up the high mountain, I saw the mountain scenery as if in a dream

The day I returned, the roads were broad and wide
The tall houses stretched high up towards the sky of longing
The hometown river that used to be has now become the Ngàn Trươi Dam
Where I hear the vast paddies and verdant rice fields.

The canal is azure and the mountain is verdant
You walked beside me to visit the full lake
The golden and silver moon watched the fish leaping over the Vũ Môn Gate
The inter-village road is bright with the smiles of young men and women
