Nguyện thứ nhất:
"Khi hành bồ tát, danh hiệu Tôi Tự Tại Quán Âm. Liên thâm,
Thanh tịnh canh trần, nơi nào đau khổ tầm thanh cứu liền"

"Không nài gian khổ, quyết một lòng cứu độ chúng sinh,
Luôn luôn thị hiện biển Đông, vớt người chìm đắm khi giông gió nhiều"

12 Prayers of Bodhisattva Guanyin

First Prayer:
"When practicing as a bodhisattva, I am known as Avalokiteshvara,
diligently purifying defilements; wherever there is suffering, I quickly respond to cries for help."

"I am willing to endure any hardship to save all beings;
I constantly manifest as the Eastern Sea, rescuing drowning people from stormy seas."

"In this realm of existence, there is much suffering in the dark realms;
beings harm one another due to past grudges; hearing their cries, I quickly come to their aid."

I help them dispel their ignorance, and protect them from danger and distress."

I forgive all mistakes and offenses, making no distinctions between good and evil."

even when surrounded by tigers and wolves, Avalokiteshvara appears to save them."
