An der Bockwurschtbude sitzen,
Sich den Ketchup um die Ohren haun,
Die Wurst fängt an zu schwitzen.
Wenn Old Emmes uff'n Aalstand
Seinen Knorpel noch mal ölt,
Mit dem Daumennagel eenem Aal
Die Haut vom Fette schält,
Und ick klemm'ma meene Klemmen ab,
Vom Fahrrad steig' ick grob,
Kloppe mir den Staub vom Scheitel,
Drängle mich zum Essigseidel,

Die Büchse mit Ravioli, die bleibt zu,

Denn alles sagt mir ungeheuer zu.

When the kids are already at eight
Sitting at the bratwurst stand,
Ketchup all over their faces,
The bratwurst starts to sweat.
When Old Emmes at the eel stand
Oils his cartilage one more time,
With his thumbnail, he peels
The skin from the fat of an eel,
And I snap off my clips
I get off my bike roughly
Knock the dust off my head
Push my way to the vinegar tub
Fish out a gherkin from the tub.

I have market day, fish day, cauliflower time,
I settle down
The kohlrabi knows
The can of ravioli stays closed
I have market day, the market is held
Fresh protein by fish is good for me

And I push myself confidently
From one booth to the other
But suddenly I get dizzy
My senses want to wander
I believe my hamster is hissing
In an instant, I see clearly
A gherkin band plays rock by sheet music
Grapefruits dance the Cha-Cha-Cha
And I sit down for a moment, drink a little
Seltzer for the fright
Wipe my eyes clean
Put the bike against the wall
But suddenly the whole thing is gone.

I push through the crowds
Who are reaching for white eggs
Put my cap on my head.
