Vechein La'mar - And so he said

Rabbi Huna the Amora is dressed with
A piece of straw instead of his belt
And that is how he stands before Rav
Rav asks Rabbi Huna
Why are you dressed in such a way today
I will tell you, Rav
I did not have any wine for
Kiddush, so I sold my belt
And with that I
Bought wine for Kiddush
Ah says Rav
May it be the Lord’s will for you to be surrounded with silk
May you have silk wrapped around you
Rava is having his son’s wedding
After the wedding, Rabbi Huna lies down on the bed
As a short man
Nobody notices him
Later on, Rava’s daughters
Come into the room
They throw down there the silken
Mantles on the bed
They do not notice him
Of course it falls upon Rabbi Huna
He becomes totally covered with silk
Now the blessing of Rav that Rabbi Huna would be covered with silk has become true
But when Rav hears of this
Rav becomes upset
My dear Rabbi Huna: If you would have said “And so he said” when I blessed you
I would also have had been covered with silk
