to dance the chacarera
under the algarrobo trees,
with harp, drum and violins,
and some "cajas vidaleras".

and good at "tabeadas",
from the land of the Taboadas,
I'm from Santiago, my dear.

I sing vidalas from the hills,
and zambas from the salt flats,
which I will never trade
for songs from other lands.

the soul that God has given it.
