25 de noviembre, un domingo por la tarde
Murió Roberto Martínez, lo mató Jesús González

Había baile en el poblado, había feria, había jugada

Llegó Beto en su caballo para ver si la bajaba

González bajó el cabresto y se la llevó un amigo
Roberto de su caballo le gritaba enfurecido:
"¡Yo creí que tú eras hombre, no creí que eras vendido!"

Beto dejó su caballo y a la cantina volvió
Nomás al cruzar el patio González de atrás le habló
Nomás a que diera frente su pistola disparó

Roberto cayó pa′trás que en su sangre se batía
Y González asustado no halló dónde se metía
Amagando a los presentes huyó de la policía

Ya con esta me despido, con dolor del corazón

Esta sangrienta tragedia pasó en Marín, Nuevo León
