Recuerdo aquella mañana de invierno, hace algunos años
Iba unas cinco veces por semana a bucear a pulmón para
Pescar y ahorrar el poco dinero que ganaba
Y así pder invertirlo en mi sueño, la música

Y aunque fingiera delante de los demás
Era una de las peores épocas de mi vida
Todo lo que podría ir mal, iba peor
Y la depresión me hundía cada día más

Ahora imaginaros que entre tu abrumador caos
Tanto sufrimiento y tanta oscuridad

Y en una de esas inmersiones, esperando en el fondo
Observé toda aquella magestuosa masa de agua encima de mí

E hipnotizado por ese mágico silencio, casi ensordecedor
Decidí no subir y me quedé en el fondo, ahogándome
Aceptando que iba a morir sin ningún tipo de miedo
Comenzaron a darme las típicas contracciones
Avisándome de que me quedaba poco tiempo

Pero cuando creía estar al límite
Como si de un cuerpo por control remoto se tratara
Mis piernas comenzaron a aletear y aletear hacia arriba, automáticamente
Comencé a escuchar una especie de zumbido dentro de mi cabeza
Y la imagen de la superficie se me iba desvaneciendo
Fundiéndose con un blanco infinito y, de repente

No vi la luz al final del túnel, ni hablé con ningún Dios

Y en el momento en el que entendí eso
Comencé a ver los problemas desde un punto de vista

When You Hit Rock Bottom

Every day I receive hundreds of messages from people all over the world
And after reading them, I always end up with a strange feeling,
like a bittersweet taste, seeing how so many people feel so lost,
that they confide in a stranger like me
all kinds of experiences, so harsh, intimate and personal.

Children who can't stand the bullying they receive at school anymore,
couples who have broken up and can't bear the pain of living without the person they love,
people who have lost family members, loved ones,
families with financial problems.

Warriors who fight every day
to not let their illness win the battle.
Actually, there are many reasons that can make
us feel so empty, so full of nothing
that sometimes you choose to believe that stopping feeling is
precisely the solution to all your problems, right?

I remember that winter morning, some years ago.
I used to go freediving about five times a week to
fish and save the little money I earned
so I could invest it in my dream, music.

And although I pretended in front of others,
it was one of the worst times of my life.
Everything that could go wrong, went even worse,
and depression sank me deeper every day.

Now imagine that amidst your overwhelming chaos,
so much suffering and darkness,
a halo of lights opens above you that seems to be the solution to everything.
And in one of those dives, waiting at the bottom,
I observed that majestic mass of water above me,
pierced by the first rays of sunlight.

And hypnotized by that magical, almost deafening silence,
I decided not to go up and stayed at the bottom, drowning.
Accepting that I was going to die without any fear,
the typical contractions started to hit me,
warning me that I had little time left.

But when I thought I was at my limit,
as if my body was remotely controlled,
my legs began to flutter and flutter upwards, automatically.
I began to hear a kind of buzzing inside my head,
and the image of the surface began to fade,
merging with an infinite white, and suddenly...

I didn't see the light at the end of the tunnel, nor did I speak to any God.
Neither did I see my grandmother greeting me from the other side.
My life didn't flash before my eyes,
nor could I see my own body levitating out of it.

But somehow,
in just a few seconds, my life changed completely.
And I realized how extremely fragile we are.
We shouldn't make permanent decisions
based on temporary emotions.

This world is a damn jungle and it's a fucking mess,
but it's our mess.
And in this life, I firmly believe that almost everything is a matter of attitude,
and that things affect us to the extent that we let them affect us.

It's not about what happens, but how you face it.
And the moment I understood that,
I started to see problems from a perspective
that allows you to keep swimming, instead of staying at the bottom.
