è l'amico della saggezza non colui che la possiede

Il suo nome è Socrate che noi incontriamo come un mito
Nell'opera di Platone suo discepolo ed amico
E non è forse ogni filosofo un amico di Platone
Forse anche chi ne ha rovesciato ogni concezione
Io un po come Machiavelli gioco con gli amici vivi
Poi coi libri dialogo con gli altri amici gli antiqui
Ma l'amicizia cristiana fratellanza e pacifismo
Ci ha distolto da quella dei greci e dal loro agonismo
Come Socrate ed il suo nuovo erotismo
L'uomo più brutto che si fece bello del proprio razionalismo
Ma ai simposi gli amici affogavano sempre nell'alcol
Solo Socrate anche da ubriaco rimaneva saldo
E puntava in alto fuori dalla caverna
In cui avrebbero ammazzato pur di non sapere la verità esterna
E fu cosi che Platone perse il suo amico
Mentre una democrazia uccideva il suo intelletto più riuscito
Come un carro guidato solo da bestie
Come corpi ribaltati che camminan sulle teste
Il motivo per cui Socrate non teme di morire
è perché se dopo c'è il nulla, il nulla non può far soffrire
Ma siccome il corpo invecchia mentre ascende la ragione
Non è forse una liberazione dal corpo-prigione?
E chi ha sempre più ragione morendo la manterrà
Forse per sfidare i saggi defunti che abitano l'aldilà
Egli accettò la sentenza del suo processo
E non volle umiliarsi con arringhe sofistiche
Ed agli amici tristi che volevan farlo uscire di prigione
Lui spiegò che era meglio il decesso che una vita nella trasgressione
Questa è la storia ufficiale ossia quella con la morale
Per chi non riesce a andare al di là del bene e del male
Mentre un giorno quel baffone ci spiegò
Che Socrate amò morire perché a quella vita aveva detto no
Quella vita rimossa dai moralisti che vive con la potenza espressa nelle teorie dei sofisti
Come Callicle che sa che la legge è contro natura
E serve ai deboli per addomesticare la volontà pura
E dura che in quanto tale è fatta per dominare
E la sua gioia è liberarsi dalla morale e creare
Ciò Platone lo ha ritratto con maestria
Ma se solo avesse visto i sofisti del 2000 dopo cristo
Avrebbe amato i suoi vecchi nemici valutando il rischio
Che corre in questo periodo la nostra amica Sofia

For the birth of that rational discipline

That seeks dialogue creating a verbal challenge
Between the different pretenders to the one true ideal
He is the friend of wisdom, not the one who possesses it
Who knows he does not possess it and this is his only faith
His name is Socrates whom we encounter as a myth
In the work of Plato his disciple and friend
And is not every philosopher a friend of Plato
Perhaps even the one who has overthrown all his conceptions
I, like Machiavelli, play with living friends
Then with books I dialogue with the other friends, the ancients
But Christian friendship, fraternity, and pacifism
Have diverted us from that of the Greeks and their agonism
Like Socrates and his new eroticism
The ugliest man who made himself beautiful with his own rationalism
But at the symposia the friends always drowned in alcohol
Only Socrates, even drunk, remained firm
And aimed high, outside the cave
In which they would have killed rather than know the external truth
And so it was that Plato lost his friend
As a democracy killed its most successful intellect
Like a chariot driven only by beasts
Like overturned bodies that walk on their heads
The reason why Socrates is not afraid to die
Is because if afterwards there is nothing, nothing can make you suffer
But since the body ages as reason ascends
Is it not a liberation from the body-prison?
And whoever is increasingly right will keep it when he dies
Perhaps to challenge the deceased sages who inhabit the afterlife
He accepted the sentence of his trial
And did not want to humiliate himself with sophistic speeches
And to the sad friends who wanted to have him released from prison
He explained that death was better than a life of transgression
This is the official story, that is, the one with the moral
