Essa é uma história que já deixou muita gente comovida
Fala sobre um homem
Que achava que na sua vida muitas coisas
Pra ele não fazia sentido
É a história de um fazendeiro
Um homem sem coração
Mas que um dia pagou caro
Pelo seu despreso e a sua ingratidão
Dos quatro filhos que teve
Três ele trazia na palma da mão
Com carinho e muita dula
E o outro era a caçula
Que seria a sua sina
Só porque ela era menina
Ele não escondia a sua decepção
E pra todos ainda dizia
Que filho tinha que ser homem
Que era pra ajudar o pai na lida
E que um dia seria o dono do seu próprio chão
E que filha mulher era atraso de vida
Além de não servir pra lida, não saberia dar ordens
E jamais poderia um dia ser um patrão
Em todo o canto que ia, os três filhos ele levava
Só que a menina ele despresava
E ela entristecida, chorava escondida, e em seu canto ficava
Sabendo que o maior erro da sua vida era ter nascido mulher
Essa era a única culpa que ela carregava
Mas um dia já cansada do despreso que ela sofria
Chamando o seu pai de um lado a verdade ela dizia
Meu pai, o senhor me viu nascer, mas nunca me considerou
Eu já ouvi muito o senhor dizer, que o seu maior orgulho
É a sua fazenda de gado, e ver o seus filhos do seu lado
No lombo de um cavalo, ou em cima de um trator
Mas é só dos meus irmãos que o senhor tem falado
Porque comigo o senhor nunca se importou
E nesse momento dos olhos da menina, uma lágrimas rolou
Mas ela continuou o seu pensamento
E mesmo chorando ainda falou
Eu podia muito bem ter nascido um menino
Talvez tenha sido esse o erro do meu destino
Que eu acho que ele não me ajudou
Mas agora eu vejo, que ter nascido a sua filha
Foi mesmo um engano, eu já tenho doze anos
E nunca ganhei um beijo e um abraço do senhor
E é com a alma ferida e com o coração queimando em brasa
Que eu vou me embora dessa casa e vou sair de vez da sua vida
Ele ouviu as palavras daquela pobre menina
Mas não se comoveu com as suas lágrimas e ainda falou
Eu nunca ouvi tanta bobeira, tanta coisa pra eu fazer, e eu aqui
Perdendo tempo com as suas besteiras
E se você quer saber, filho mesmo eu só tenho é três
E já que você quer ir embora, pode ir embora de uma vez
E ela se foi
Pegou a estrada e foi embora
Só levando uma sacola com as roupas que ela usava
Nunca mais mandou noticia e nunca mais voltou
Alguns anos se passaram
E o fazendeiro começou a ver de perto a sua sina
Dos filhos que sempre adulava
Não foi bem o que ele esperava e começou a sua ruína
E mais um tempo depois
O fazendeiro foi perdendo o seu dinheiro
Enquanto a doença matava os seus bois
Os filhos que ele tanto adorava
Só pensava na farra e na liberdade que tinha
Pra fazenda não ligavam, passavam o ano inteiro festando
E assim foram gastando todo dinheiro que tinham
O fazendeiro foi ficando desesperado
Seu sangue fervia nas veias
Gastando com advogado pra tirar os filhos drogados da cadeia
Depois de velho e cansado
Ele se viu um homem derrotado
Abandonado pelos seus próprios filhos
Ele se viu só, num buraco negro e profundo
Desprezado por todo mundo, completamente só e endividado
E a sua fazenda que já foi um dia o seu reino encantado
Ele teve que vender para um comprador de um outro estado
Que cobriu a oferta que foi dada
E aceitou as condições que ele pedia
E ele só venderia a propriedade,
Se ele pudesse continuar ali na fazenda
Mesmo que fosse pra trabalhar de empregado
Só pra poder viver ali o resto dos seus dias
E, com o orgulho ferido
Reconhecendo o seu fracasso
Vendo que tudo aquilo que foi construído
Com os seus próprios braços
Agora não passava de um sonho perdido
Que foi destruído pelos seus filhos
E que fez dele um simples empregado, velho e cansado
Um certo dia ele estava sentado debaixo de uma árvore
Admirando tudo aquilo que jão foi seu
Foi quando ele recebeu um recado que ele ia ser dispensado
E no escritório da fazenda compareceu
Quando ele foi chegando
Já foram lhe falando
Já esta pronta a papelada e só falta a assinatura do senhor
E ele nervoso já foi respondendo
Fique sabendo sua secretária, que tudo isso um dia foi meu
E que no dia em que eu vendi essa fazenda
O comprador tava sabendo que eu ficaria aqui
Trabalhando de empregado,
E o corretor me avisou que ele tinha concordado
Disse que ele morava em um outro estado
Sendo que na verdade eu ainda nem o conheço
Porque nem se quer aqui ele nunca apareceu
E pode dar um recado pra esse seu patrão sua secretária
Diga à ele que nesse chão ainda vou ser enterrado
E eu não vou assinar nenhum papel de demissão
Aí ela então respondeu
O senhor está muito enganado na sua decisão
O senhor entrou aqui me chamando de secretária
Não sabe nem o que está dizendo
Eu é que sou a proprietária dessa fazenda
E o senhor é o meu empregado
E nisso ele abaixou a cabeça e ficou calado mas depois respondeu
Eu nunca na minha vida me senti tão humilhado
Pode me dar a papelada que eu assino a minha demissão
Eu prefiro pegar a estrada
Do que ter que chamar uma mulher de meu patrão
Ai ela tirou da gaveta, uns papéis e uma caneta
