And So - Live

On the Posillipo tram, during summer's prime,
A most amusing event occurred a year ago.
The tram was packed, inside, outside, and in between,
When, at Via Partenope, a lady stepped in.

And so?

And so I said right away, "Madam, have a seat here!"
She replied, "Make yourself comfortable, you'll see we'll fit.
Let's squeeze in, squeeze in, there's still room for me."
And almost inside, squeezing tight, the lady settled in.

And so?
Oh, well

And so, around the corner, I squeezed in a bit more.
She laughed and then, looking at me, crossed her legs.
I sighed seeing her, with one leg out like that,
How I sighed, "Cesare, what thighs this lady has!"

And so I said, "Are you from Naples?" "No, I'm from Milan!"
"You're certainly taking baths here!" "No, I'm leaving tomorrow.
I'd like to see Frisio, I've never seen it before."

And so she goes, "You're stupid!" "Stupid here, come on!
One hundred lire for the taxi, two hundred for food,
Two thousand and something for the room, and what else do you want!
Here we need the Bank of Naples, dearest lady!"

And so?

And so, without adding even an "i" or an "a",
I grabbed my hat and, suddenly, I went down there.
I found the taxi again, "Driver, Pensione Flora!"
And I went to find Amelia, who was still waiting for me.
