Portier ciężko dysząc,

Który pragnąc mnie,

Uwielbienia szmer
Zmieniał bez ustanku
W ósmy świata cud

Garnitur ten trzydzieści lat już noszę

Pociągiem tłukę się w noc na chałtury,
W walizkach dwóch od wielu mieszkam lat,
Komplet widzów w dwa dni,
Czasem kucharek łzy,
To musi mi zastąpić sławy smak...

Na mój widok nikt

Stek złośliwych kpin,

Nie docenia ról,

Zazdrosny nie byłem,

I left my family home years ago,
From the town where everyone knows everyone,
I set off straight ahead, just as I stood,
To conquer the world – no matter where or how.
I had a fancy suit made for myself,
A chic blue, the latest fashion craze,
I laughed at worries,
And dreamed that fate
Would let me be an artist, let me be an artist...
