Por soleares La Ruiseñora!
Se acabó lo que se daba - le dijo Paco Olivares-
Y la llevó hasta el artá
Y ella, que lo camelaba, se puso blanca de azahares
Y nunca vorvió a cantá.
Pero Paco, antes del año, empezó a vorvé de día
Y a bebé sin ton ni son
Y mordiendo el desengaño, la flamenca repetía
En los hierros del balcón.

¿Qué te pasa, Ruiseñora?
Que tengo un río de pena y celos en la garganta,
Que hasta el corazón me llora
Por siguiriyas, por soleares y por tarantas
¿Qué sombra lo tiene esclavo?
¿De qué rumbo mardesío
Viene este doló de clavo
Que desbarata el sentío
¿Dónde está el agonizante
Que entre la noche y la aurora
Se muere cantando un cante
Mejó que La Ruiseñora?

Al 'Tres de espadas' corrió celosa
Con la carita despavoría
Y vió a su Paco que con la Rosa
En una mesa se divertía.
Subió derecha ar tablao; ¡Aquí está La Ruiseñora
Pa' lo que gusten mandá!
¡Lo de ese y yo s'ha acabao! ¡Vuervo a sé la cantaora!
¡Conque vamos a cantá!
-Pues se va a cumplí tu suerte! y al relámpago de un tiro
Er café se iluminó;
Ella vió llegá la muerte y, en el úrtimo suspiro,
De este modo le cantó:

¡Dios te ampare, Ruiseñora!
Campanas doblen por el silencio de tu garganta;
Y recen por su cantaora
Las siguiriyas, las soleares y las tarantas.
De un soplo m'has apagao
La lámpara de la vía,
Mira qué bien has pagao,
Lo que yo a ti te quería.
¿Donde está el agonizante
Que entre la noche y la aurora

The Nightingale (Traditional Song)

In the tavern of 'The Three of Swords',
Among guitars and aniseed liquor,

Soleares The Nightingale!
