Puttering around, complaining everything's futile,
My listless days are just rolling around in the gutter, not even the pigeons will peck at it.
I keep thinking, I'll do it now, but then I say I'll do it later, and now here I am,
With no way out, only the plunge left to take.

I've been lying to myself, distorting my ideals,
And all I've got to show for it is a fistful of nothing.

Finite, that's me, I don't believe in tomorrow.
Because if today were my last, then my life would be one big regret.
So I'll cast my lot today, I'll aim high, I'll win,
And I'll die with a smile on my face. Today's worth that much.

How many crossroads, how many decisions have I passed through,
To end up here, washed ashore? Let me think back.
For every path I chose, there were sacrifices and goodbyes.
And they still weigh heavy on my back.

I mustn't forget the sins I've forsaken,
And the dream I yearned for so much.

Finite, that's me, I don't believe in the past.
Because the line between today and yesterday is just something someone decided.
So as long as I'm alive, my story will continue, and I'll always want,
To burn bright. Today's got that much meaning.

The day you live so earnestly, the day I live so recklessly,
The day that's so joyful and precious, the day that's so sad and unbearable,
The day after the storm, the day on the war-torn battlefield,
The day someone couldn't live, the day someone wished for so much,
They all have the same weight, they're all measured by the same scale, and right now they're all in front of us.
Right now, we're living today.

Finite, that's me, so every day is a page in a finite life.
If that's the case, there's no day that I can afford to skip.
So I'll start over, I'll write a new chapter for us.
It might be mismatched, but that's just my life.
That's all it is.
