Of all the poets and the crazy
That we met in the street
I've kept a face or a name
A tear or a few laughs
We drank in Galway
Kept late in the bars of Lisbon
Rediscovered the stories of Italy
On the notes of some songs.
We traveled together
And listened to the voices of the crazy
Met the strangest people
And embarked on traveling companions
Someone was left
Someone left and was never heard from again
One day you too decided
A hug and then you left.

Maybe one day we can meet again
Again along the road.
Of all the countries and squares
Where we stopped the van
We wasted a minute listening to
A partisan or some drunkard
The strange stories of the old men at the bar
And of the children with the desert tea
Were life lessons
That I learned and still keep.
